Born in Chaves on July 20, 1983.
Having started with the electric guitar and the classical guitar, he soon met the “Canção de Coimbra” in the voice of his father, a university student, which made him want to learn to play the Coimbra guitar.
Then, he continued his studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra, which he joined in 2001, the same day he enrolled in the Music School of the Coimbra Academic Association Fado Section.
It was there that, by the hands of his Master,
Dr. Jorge Gomes, he had the privileged opportunity to learn this instrument.
In 2003, he was one of the founders of the Lacrima group, with which he participated in the Monumental Serenades in Coimbra and in numerous other events from north to south of Portugal and in Azores and Madeira archipelagos.
He promoted and participated in the recording of the Carlos Paredes’ Tribute CD: "Serenata do Caloiro 2004" and was present in several international events, namely in Canada, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Italy and France.
His academic career ends with the celebration of the Academic Association 125th anniversary, an event where he shared the stage of Casino Estoril with Xutos e Pontapés to play "Homem do Leme" with his own arrangement for Coimbra guitar.
Simultaneously with his pharmacist profession since 2008, he has always continued to dedicate himself to the guitar.
In 2014, together with
created the project A Nossa Guitarra
focused on the study and dissemination of the guitar of Coimbra, with which he has performed concerts and lectures, in Portugal and abroad.
Currently, he is accompanied on
classical guitar by
and focuses his greatest attention as an interpreter on the Paredes family’s musical work, the most relevant in the history of this instrument.
As an author, he released in 2015 the single “Ao Fundo do Túnel” and he’s preparing his first original work.
