Transmontano by heart, he was born in Chaves on the 20th of July 1983.
Having gone through the electric guitar and the classical guitar, he soon discovered the Song of Coimbra through the voice of his father, a student at the University, which made him want to learn to play the Coimbra guitar.
He then continued his studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra, which he entered in 2001, on the same day he enrolled in the School of Music of the Fado Section of the Academic Association of Coimbra.
It was there, at the hands of his Master, Dr. Jorge Gomes, who had the privileged opportunity to learn this instrument.
In 2003 he helped found the grouplacrimation, with which he participated in the Monumental Serenades in Coimbra and in countless other events from north to south of the country and on the islands.
He promoted and participated in the recording of the Tribute CD to Carlos Paredes: "Serenata do Caloiro 2004" and was present at several international events, namely in Canada, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Italy and France.
Your academic path ends
with the celebration of the 125th anniversary of Académica, an event in which he takes to the stage at Casino Estoril with the
Xutos e Pontapés to play the theme "Homem do Leme" with an arrangement of his own for guitar from Coimbra.
Alongside his profession as a pharmacist, which he has practiced since 2008, he has always continued to dedicate himself passionately to the guitar.
In 2014, together with
created the projectour guitaraimed at the study and dissemination of the Coimbra guitar, within which it has given concerts and lectures, inside and outside Portugal.
Currently, it has the collaboration of
in classical guitar accompaniment.
He focuses his greatest attention as a performer on the musical work of the Paredes family, the most relevant in the history of this instrument.
As an author, he released the single “Ao Fundo do Túnel” in 2015 and is currently preparing his first original work.
